Over 2000 people were left homeless after the fire destroyed over 650 homes. In collaboration with the South African Red Cross Society, SweepSouth organised donations towards care packages for the households impacted by the fire.
With your contribution, we managed to raise over R7 000, which allowed us to purchase items like: body lotions, sanitary towels, facecloths, soaps, toilet paper packs, toothbrushes, deodorants and baby products like infant cereal boxes, formula tins, nappies and baby wipes as well as food items like pasta, rice, sugar, canned pilchard, sweet corn and baked beans. These were delivered to the Red Cross, who will deliver the items to the community once rebuilding efforts are underway.
